Admin Corner
Dear Robina Families,
We understand that the likelihood of teacher job action has been a major topic of discussion within your homes over the past couple of days. At school, we use tools like our "We Thinkers" language to discuss concepts such as "The Group Plan" with our students. To help them understand the current situation, we shared a social story during today's virtual announcements, which outlines information about the job action, similar to the one we shared during the support staff disruption last spring. You may find this story helpful in your own conversations with your children.
Next steps:
School Closure: Please be advised that if a labour resolution is not reached before Monday, parents must anticipate and plan for schools to be closed.
Communication During Job Action: During the period of job action, teachers (including Mrs. Porter’s EIPK program) and administration will not be communicating or responding to emails. This is standard procedure during a labour disruption.
Updates and Information: All future official communications to families, including updates on the status of the strike and school reopening, will be managed and distributed by the Division Office via email and their official website. Please monitor those channels for updates.
We recognize that this impending closure creates an unexpected challenge, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding. This is a difficult time for our entire teaching staff, who care deeply about our students and their learning. We are all hopeful for a swift resolution to this labour disruption so we can return to working with our students and families as soon as possible.
Be well!
Mr. Coffin & Mrs. Kirton
Congratulations to our RBES Cross Country Team!
On Thursday, our Raptors did amazing again at the BGSD Cross Country Meet held at Voyageur Park right here in Devon!
Thank you again to Mrs. Suter and Mrs. Rothfos for coaching!
Terry Fox Walk - Thank You!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday to help Terry “Finish It”! We are so grateful to the Lion’s Club for providing a healthy snack for all of our students, to the parents and volunteers who walked alongside our classes, and to the Devon Xtreme team who helped keep everyone safe along the way.
If you’d like to support cancer research, donations can still be made directly through the RBES Terry Fox Fundraising Page

Hot Lunch Update
Quick update on hot lunch orders for the week of October 6-10th
Our hot lunch team (who’s essentially one person) will be crediting the hot lunch accounts for orders next week.
This will continue through, each week, until job action has ended.
I’d like to thank everyone for cooperation while waiting for credits to hit their accounts, this is a bit of a tedious process and will take time to get through all orders.
School Photos Orders
Your child should have brought home their SmartPhotography online code sheet this week. Photos were taken using a green screen, which means you’ll be able to preview your child’s picture with over 100 different background options online.
To view your proofs and place an order, simply log in using your unique access code. (It can take up to 6 business days to see the proof online.) You can try out different backgrounds before deciding on your favorite.
📅 Please remember to place your order by October 20, 2025.

NEW - Club Moo!
Our Milk Program is Back! 🥛
We are excited to announce that our Club Moo Milk Program is back this year! Our Moo Crew—made up of our Grade 4 Leadership students—will be helping by fulfilling and delivering milk orders (starting in October) to each class (Kindergarten to Grade 4) at lunchtime each day.
Parents can purchase milk tickets through PowerSchool: 20 tickets (white or chocolate) for $20.
How to use your tickets:
- Send them all at once – Cut the tickets apart and return them in a baggie or envelope. They will be kept in your child’s reading bag, and your child can decide when to use them.
- Send them as needed – Place one ticket in your child’s reading bag on the days you’d like them to have milk.
Milk delivery will start when school resumes.
